Hi it's Jyl Forsyth. Radio DJ for 29 years and Wedding reception Dj for 25. I love both of my careers. Both have taken a great deal of time to learn to do really really well. I consider myself a true professonial in both my radio shows and my wedding DJ service business. Now a days, radio shows are being lost to voice tracking. Many shows are now "peopleless" in the studio. The trend of DJ's doing live shows continues to become more extinct every week.
Just like finding a true wedding DJ. With so many people out of work, radio dj's included, they go buy a sound system and are like "oh I can DO a wedding reception!" All you do is play music right?
Beware! Beware future brides and grooms. DO NOT, I REPEAT do not hire a DJ based on price. PRICE is important, yes, we all want a deal.....but anyone who charges $100.00 an hour for your wedding reception is going to be crap!! NO PROFESSIONAL wedding reception DJ would ever in a million years do that. It's the cheap and untrained DJ's who are trying to set the precedence for those few of us in Detroit who really are entertainers and professional wedding DJ's.

Before you go for the CHEAPEST price....PLEASE call me first. Remember, there is only ONE try to get this right. I will at least inform you of what you should look for in a true wedding DJ. A lot goes into this profession. A lot!!
It's not like a radio show where you can have a bad show and then a great one the next day.
A DJ has ONE SHOT to be the brilliant highlight of your wedding reception.....if they blow it, you won't have the chance to get it right next time....and a "wannabe" cheap DJ won't care either way. They will have under cut everyone in town and ruined your night! It's happening everyday!! So many DJ's will tell you they will DJ your wedding for $250.00 a night. THAT is a JOKE!!
Think about your own career or business...isn't there always someone coming along trying to IMITATE you for way less? Imitations are always that. An imitation!!
NO ONE CAN BE A DJ OVERNIGHT. It's a skill. A profession. An art.
Call me and I'll explain why you can't afford to go with a $100.00 an hour DJ!!
OMG....no decent wedding DJ would ever in a million years sell themselves out for that low ammount.

When you hire Jyl Forsyth Productions....YOU GET JYL FORSYTH. I don't hire some kid for $75.00 a night and pocket the money for myself....and NOT show up. This is quite common too. You think you are getting one DJ, and another one shows up!
These are desperate people who need money at your expense. Don't let them ruin your wedding, your dream day because they are CHEAPER than a professional. A REAL DJ has a set price and will not STOOP to beat all others.

I get angry at all the scams going on today in everything. Now even in the DJ wedding reception world. Which is too important for some "wanna be" to mess up. YOUR ONE WEDDING NIGHT and some idiot could and will screw it all up because you went for the lowest price. Only an imposter would LOW BALL every other price in town. They have NO pride in what they are doing. No name or reputation to uphold. They just want your money. Us real wedding receptions DJ's will NOT stoop to their scammy low prices. You will get what you pay for and this is a proven fact time and time and time again.
I DJ'd a wedding tonight and a couple came up to my DJ booth to tell me how their wedding was totally ruined by a DJ scam. Someone took a $400.00 deposit from them and NEVER showed up at the wedding. When they called from the reception to see what was up...the phone number was disconnected. Can you imagine?? NO DJ?? It's sickening that people will do this, but they do!!

To end on a positive note, the wedding for Suzanne and Terry Poole (the NEW Mr. and Mrs. Poole!!) I DJ'd this evening was amazing. They were so happy with everything! The dance floor was full all night and I drove home thanking God that the night went absolutely perfectly.
